Swen Larson, owner and president of Larson Builders Inc. has been in the construction business in the Iowa City are for over 20 years. After framing for some of the area’s best contractors he started his own company, Larson Builders, in 1998 and has continually grown ever since. Since forming his own business, Swen has been able to give back to the community in many ways in addition to his construction services. He served as the President of the Greater Iowa City Homebuilders Association in 2006, was a recipient of the Big Spike Award; an award given by the Homebuilders Association in recognition of his outstanding service to the association, was on a Steering Committee for the Affordable Housing Market Analysis in 2007, served/s on multiple committees for fundraising efforts for the University of Iowa’s Children’s Hospital, he is a partner in multiple entities that have developed areas such as Olde Towne Village, Hollywood Manor Part 9 and Pine Valley Development. In addition to construction and development, Swen also owns and property manages multiple apartment buildings and rental houses in the Iowa City/Coralville area.

Currently, Larson Builders employs ten workers that not only work on new construction projects but framing projects alike. Additionally the office managers, Kelly Larson and Emily Hartwig assist in the company’s operations to keep all of the internal aspects of the company running and up to date.
